Overview
The Electrical Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams, clients and stakeholders to support the design, coordination and execution of electrical systems on construction projects.
This is an exempt position and reports to the Senior Electrical Engineer of our Engineering department. It is based out of our Redmond, WA headquarters and is a fully in-office role. This role follows a general schedule of 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, though flexibility may be required to support team and business needs.
Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with the preconstruction project manager, preconstruction teams, and the installation teams during both design and construction phases. They will be responsible for the electrical design and engineering on various projects, including electrical power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power and low voltage systems.
Additional responsibilities for this role include:
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, calculations, specifications and RFIs to support project execution
- Identify areas of improvements for various project phases including concept development, preliminary design, and final design
- Communicate with customers in the form of meetings and presentations to understand and define their needs, provide project status, and respond to requests or concerns – both verbal and written
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, project specifications and standards
- Provide technical support to field crews and resolve installation questions in real time
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong knowledge and familiarity of the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Code (IBC) and local energy codes
- Strong working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office Suite, and Autodesk REVIT
- Experience in commercial construction
Skills and Abilities
Success in this role requires excellent organizational and design skills as well as proven experience in electrical design projects. This person will need to a problem solver and multitasker.
