Overview

The Service Manager is focused on providing leadership to the service team through daily operational management, training, performance management and safety. This position is responsible for generating work with end users, customers and repeat clients. They will spend time pursuing and acquiring new accounts in addition to managing and coordinating the service department and assigned projects. 

This is an exempt position, non-bargaining position and will lead our Service Department. It is based out of our Redmond, WA headquarters. Hours for this position are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

 

Responsibilities

As the Service Manager, you will lead and manage service department operations, including staffing, productivity, and performance to drive customer satisfaction and profitability. You’ll manage service projects from planning through closeouts, including budgets, schedules, billing, and change orders. You’ll also be responsible for monitor financial performance (P&L, costs, WIP, billing, collections) and manage departmental budgets and reporting. Additional responsibilities for this role include:

  • Planning and allocating resources, coordinating staffing and manpower
  • Recruiting, coaching, developing personnel; overseeing training and performance management
  • Supporting estimating, proposals, and sales efforts while building and maintaining client relationships
  • Leading team meetings, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and operation procedures

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing commercial service electricians
  • Experience with electrical estimating software (Preferably McCormick)
  • Experience leading multiple people with different responsibilities
  • Electrical construction and maintenance industry experience


Skills and Abilities

Success in this role requires the ability to determine electrical scope and understand the customer’s needs from a job walk and electrical drawings. This person needs to be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently. Additional Skills that will contribute to success in this role include:

  • Customer service focus with the ability to define and document customers’ needs, address technical concerns and provide solutions
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
